TACURONG CITY – The Department of Science and Technology Region XII (DOST XII) Sultan Kudarat PSCTC and SACDALAN AQUA MARINE CULTURE FARM signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last December 23, 2020 at Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) office in Tacurong City.
The said MOA signing was led by DOST XII OIC-Regional Director Engr. Sammy P. Malawan, CESE and Mr. Florencio G. Sacdalan, owner of the SACDALAN AQUA MARINE CULTURE FARM in Brgy. Datu Karon, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat to be funded by the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).
Mr. Jeffrey I. Nunez, the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Officer of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) served as the Co-Maker of Mr. Sacdalan in the agreement.
Supervising Science Research Specialist & Chief for TSD Engr. Szalinah S. Mercado & Sultan Kudarat Provincial Science and Technology Director (PSTD) Ms. Zenaida Guiano witnessed the MOA signing with the presence of Engr. Nestor Alcon, the Head of the DOST XII Review and Technical Evaluation Committee (RTEC).
The signing was preceded by the on-site reading and explanation by Engr. Mercado of the contents and provisions of the proposed MOA in order for Mr. Sacdalan and his co-maker, Mr. Jeffrey I. Nunez, to be fully aware of what it meant for them, especially their obligations towards the successful implementation of the project.
Mr. Sacdalan & Mr. Nunez expressed their optimism in the successful implementation of the project because the Sacdalan Aqua Marine Farm is the biggest fish farm producing L. vanamei shrimps not only in the municipality of Lebak, but also in the whole province of Sultan Kudarat.
DOST-SETUP is one of DOST’s flagship program. It is a nationwide strategy to encourage and assist MSMEs to adopt technological innovations to improve their products, services, operations and increase their productivity and competitiveness. The program enables MSMEs to address their technical concerns & issues through DOST’s technology transfer & interventions.
